Summary
Our history as a people is marked by countless examples of heroes, heroines, scientific and artistic achievement and strength in the face of overwhelming odds. And we at Descendants are determined to celebrate this legacy! Learn from teachers, story tellers and artists alike over the weeks as you explore the most notable people and moments of our African past.
These sessions will be held online from Friday 7th January 2021. Â As Covid restrictions ease, we will review our provision in line with government rules. Â However, even once we begin sessions at the centre, the online project will still continue, offering the same content as the in person sessions, to accommodate those who do not live locally and those joining from abroad. Expect creative workshops, live story telling, musical sessions and REAL African and Caribbean costumes and artefacts!
Ages 4-16
Sessions will be split into two groups depending on age (these may change according to the numbers):
(Primary School, Key Stage 1-2)
(Seconday School/College, Key stage 3-5)
We appreciate all our friends and supporters and want the students to receive the best learning experience possible, so the one off registration donation of £3.50 will not only contribute to the running of the project but will also include for you:
- A Descendants workbook
- An Exercise pack
- A full stationary pencil case
(Once physical sessions recommence, they will cost £2 per child to attend)
