About the Event
Windrush Day marks the anniversary of the arrival of MV Empire Windrush at the Port of Tilbury, near London, on 22 June 1948. The day celebrates those who arrived on the Empire Windrush, their descendants and those who followed them, and the enormous contribution made to Britain.
This is a chance to hear directly from some of the members of this generation, as they take us through their stories and experiences of moving to and settling in Britain between 1948-1970.
Bring your own stories, experiences and burning questions as we acknowledge and celebrate this important day in our history.
Guest Speaker: Sister Monica Tywang.
