Junior Runs

What an amazing young Man!  11 year-old Junior, who lost both his legs as a baby,  ran the first ever Parallel London 1K Event at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, raising over £2,500 for Descendants.

This was his first experience of doing a charity run, and his performance inspired both children and adults, in the UK and World wide.   He also received a letter of support, and a photo from his favourite football team, Liverpool, which included a personal letter from the Manager Jurgen Klopp and a signed photograph. Junior was absolutely delighted, as he is a massive fan!

October Black History Month Event

On Friday 14th October, the Descendants family gathered to celebrate Black History Month with a very special event. The children performed short plays based on the lives of “Heroes and Sheroes” past, present and future, with a special place in the programme reserved to pay tribute to our Late Patron, Dr John Roberts CBE QC, who sadly passed earlier this year. We also gave out awards to our young people to inspire and encourage them to keep moving upwards!

Celebrating 25 years of Descendants 1993-2018

As we get closer to celebrating 25 years of Descendants it fills us all with pride and amazement at some of our astonishing achievements since we were established in 1993. Our performance in a local catholic primary school was the platform from which we began our journey! Margaret and Collette worked on a dance and singing performance that would become the springboard to Descendants’ incredible journey. During this period, we have performed for the Queen, we have performed for famous footballers, we have performed alongside world famous singers like Gabrielle and Sir Cliff Richard.  We have been through an amazing journey which we would like to share with past students, parents, volunteers, and the wider Community.

We have therefore set aside the Month of September 2018 to mark our anniversary with a selection of events.  We hope that past members will come out and support these events as you were part of the making of history!
