We’re sorry that due to Covid-19 we have not been able to run our weekly sessions,
We aim to get something up and running soon!
In the meantime, we would like to run a photographic, art and mixed media project with you! We would like everyone (all parents/carers, children and young people) to join us and contribute.
The theme of the project is the arrival of the Empire Windrush.
Windrush, what it means to me!
Think about your parents, grandparents and great grandparents, we would like you to create a piece of art which shows what the arrival of the Empire Windrush means to you?
This could be what it meant then, now or in the future.
- Create a piece of art which could be a drawing, a painting or photo of something and/or someone
- Write a poem, short story or song
- Stitch a work of art using sewing/needlework.
We’re looking for any piece of art that sums up the hard work and dedication of our parents, grandparents and great grandparents when they arrived in the UK.
We are giving you some suggestions, but you are free to express your ideas of what the Windrush era means to you!
Please submit your entries by the 18th of June via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
The Exhibition will take place online and some pieces will be exhibited afterwards at an art gallery!
