QUEEN'S AWARD FOR VOLUNTARY SERVICE
The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK. It recognizes the outstanding work of local volunteer groups who provide vital services to their communities. In 2019, Descendants charity was honored to receive this prestigious award for their exceptional work in supporting young people of African and Caribbean descent in West London. The award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the who make a positive impact on the lives of others.
YOUNG EALING FOUNDATION - CREATIVE PROJECT OF THE YEAR 2023
The Young Ealing Foundation Awards is an annual event that outstanding contributions to the community by individuals and organizations. In 2023, Descendants Charity was awarded the Creative Project of the Year for their Paxton House collaborative project 'Parallel Lives, Worlds Apart'. The project was a huge success and showcased the talents of young people in the community. Additionally, their Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery collaborative project was a runner up, further highlighting their commitment to making a positive impact in Ealing.
EALING COMMUNITY NETWORK AWARDS - SMALL CHARITY, BIG IMPACT 2023
The Ealing Community Network Award is an annual event that recognizes outstanding contributions of individuals and organizations in the Ealing community. This year, Descendants Charity was honored with the 'Small Charity, Big Impact' award for their exceptional work in supporting young people from African and Caribbean backgrounds. Additionally, the founder and director of Descendants Charity received a well-deserved award for 'Lifetime Achievement'. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees for their dedication to making a positive impact in the Ealing.
MAYOR OF EALING'S CHARITY OF CHOICE, 2019/2020
Each year the Mayor of Ealing has an opportunity to highlight a cause they are passionate about upon inauguration, Descendants was the Mayor of Ealing's charity of choice for both years 2019 and 2020.
THE QUEEN'S JUBILEE, 2002
The Queen's Jubilee Celebration was a grand event in Gunnersbury Park, London that marked the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's reign. The was made even more special as Children OF Descendants performed at the event, showcasing their talents and adding to the festive atmosphere. It was a memorable occasion that brought together people from all over the to honor the Queen's remarkable reign.
